Gavin Whiteley is the Managing Director of The Micketymulga Group.
Gavin is an experienced property, agribusiness and food sector investor, executive and non Executive Director.
He has an extensive background across agribusiness having held executive roles in the agricultural property, grain, beef, cotton and chicken-meat industries. These roles extended from research and development through the production, processing, distribution and extension sectors of these industries.
Gavin established The Micketymulga Group in 2013
Previously he was the General Manager of South East Local Land Services and Chief Financial and Risk Officer with the Westchester Group of Australia. Westchester is the Australian agricultural management arm of TIAA-CREF, a significant US based pension fund, managing investments exceeding A$1.2 billion in Australian cropping land.
Before Westchester, Gavin was the Chief Financial Officer with the Grains Research and Development Corporation and Regional General Manager—Riverina, with Bartter Enterprises, the previous owners of Steggles branded chicken. He has held other senior Executive roles with Heytesbury Beef, Clyde Agriculture and Dunavant Enterprises.
Gavin holds an honours degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of New England and an Associate Diploma in Farm Management from the former Orange Agricultural College. He is a CPA qualified accountant, a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ Company Directors Course and the Australian Rural Leadership Program.
The Whiteley family are long term land holders and farming operators in the Maryvale, Geurie and Bungendore regions of central western NSW and the NSW southern tablelands.
